NullPointerException while removing group membership for partially approved customer

Unhandled exception while removing group membership of partially approved group (yellow) for partially approved (yellow) client.

Step to reproduce:
-set the following parameters in applicationConfiguration.custom.properties file:
ProcessFlow.ClientPendingApprovalStateEnabled=false
ProcessFlow.GroupPendingApprovalStateEnabled=false

(or use attached applicationConfiguration.custom.properties file from )

-create new group (w/o choosing loan officer), click "save for later" instead of "approved"
-create new client, add group membership (use group saved previously), click "save for later" instead of "approved"
-try to remove this group membership for that client
