when we add a fee to a customers loan account and the fee charge time type = "installment Fee" it puts the fee for each installment including the installments which have already been paid.
The Loan Becomes Overdue immediately
Penalty charges begin.
loan becomes NPA if any installment is past the NPA period
per Installment type fees should only be added to open installments which are not fully paid.
: The original use case for which Installment fees was developed was to associate fees with all repayments, this was usually done before the loan is disbursed, the option of adding the same to an active loan is present for cases where the loan has been accidentally disbursed without the charge etc. For adding fees against particular requirements as on date charges can be used.
, I agree with your view and original spec, system should NOT allow attaching "Installment Fee" after disbursement of the loan.
it is not as simple as "per Installment type fees should only be added to open installments which are not fully paid"
even it can be effective from certain date, in that case if loan is overdue or has advance payment then we can't derive installment fees as you has suggested based on EMI status.
My question is, why any organization wants add installment fees in-between,even it adds in-between it will be mostly based on effective from a given date or effective from certain installment number and not really on EMI status.
Said that, I request you to decrease the priority.
