Brainstorm on Faster UI development
- Can CSS based HTML pages be created quickly and effectively?
- seems like there are usually CSS issues to deal with especially across browsers.
- how much of a win would it be to support only firefox?
- one browser would cut test matrix
- firebug provides CSS editor
- IE 9 Beta (Developer Mode) has similar feature as firebug
- Thoughtworks does "developer box test"
- dev sits with QA and business analyst before saying area is done to catch issues while developer is still working on it.
- possible stumbling block has been long reloading time for FTL pages in eclipse
- establish a standard way to have fast turnaround for FTL page development
- can we get better practice in place for how to lay out html pages
- can we leverage what was done in questionaire area and repeat that
- is there a HTML/CSS/JS/UI guru we could get access to?
- can we document the process for constructing good HTML/CSS?
- idea of creating FTL widgets (probably macro based) that can be reused on all pages
- do a spike to create these widgets
