Product Roadmap

  • Roadmap coming this week.
  • Accounting
    • Thinking of using two separate lines - application and separate db structure.
  • Brainstorm on Technical Improvements
  • Possible good candidate - for sys administration
    • Sometimes admins want more information than this tool provides
    • Worried about part where it puts load on Tomcat - if we could make it optional it would be more useful.
      • Another WAR apart from Mifos that could be dropped in - might not be possible of dropping in with Jetty. 
      • Add values in terms if someone is looking at it - (but adds some computation costs)
        • If Michael is ready to do it, let him do it.
        • Don't have much insight currently. 
        • Action: start discussion thread on mailing list discussion messadmin integration. 
  • Need to do QA. Check on the technical part of the work - quality of code, how it was developed, etc.
  • Jakub, Lukasz, Chetan and others to help with QA

New Contributor Documentation  Documentation Sprint

  • Week-long sprint to get your task done but we'll have a day-long momentum push. 
  • Udai: Sunday evening good time for him.

Summer of Code

  • Didn't get accepted - will get feedback on why during Friday's session.
  • Will ask: What can we improve on for next year? 
  • Depends on criteria - any special criteria for HFOSS projects. 
  • Want to continue momentum and still try to execute on these projects.
  • Looks at OHLOH.net - gauge level of activity on project. 
  • Can't guess at documentation - they don't spend that much time to look that closely.
  • Find students in local geographies

Knowledge Transfer on Community Development Processes

  • Scheduling call with OpenMRS for Knowledge Transfer on Development Process/Community Drive Model for Development
  • Will be led by Ben Wolfe - will send invite to the mailing list.

XBRL Integration

  • Is this required in India yet? 
  • Lots of centralized momentum through Mix Market - defacto centralized data clearing house for microfinance
    • Action: Chetan and Ed to follow up with them on what they do currently.
  • Currently MFIs have to manually consolidate a lot of this information and generate report
  • Mifos will generate a pentaho report that will generate the XML call for the XBRL format - currently have 2 examples for JIRA in XBRL.
  • Feedback from Kakha
    • Ed: I think it's manually and still through their Excel spreadsheet. 
  • Link from Chetan on India XBRL
  • About 10 Mifos users report to MIX.
  • Required to view and synchronize it (lots of open source projects to help with synchronizing with this taxonomy)
  • Prepare report to XBRL taxonomy 
  • How are the MFIs generating these right now? Are they using XBRL viewers/tools to do that?

Credit Bureau/HiMark Integration

  • Report will be built by SunGard

Kojo

  • Begin to get some feedback from large MFI on data analysis with Pentaho reporting
  • Analysis views like OLAP cubes, ad-hoc reporting
  • Action: Chetan and Ed to explore these requirements with large users. 

Mifos-ACC Update

  • Finished internal discussion on POC - would like to present code/video demonstration to community. 
  • Will publish source code, have a few technical questions, and then will publish plan
