Mifos Mobile Volunteers

Overview:
A flexible, unpaid, mentorship-based internship designed for passionate, self-driven contributors interested in mobile development at Mifos. This program is ideal for those contributing outside formal internship cycles who want to gain real-world experience with open-source fintech solutions.

At Mifos Mobile:
Contributors choose a mobile-related project (Android client, Mifos Mobile, or Mifos Pay, kmp-project-template), connect with a mentor from the Mifos Mobile team, and seek approval from a core member. Once approved, the intern begins contributing under mentor guidance.

Internship Letter & Certificate:
Upon successful completion of the agreed period and consistent, high-quality contributions, interns may receive an official internship letter and certificate. Mentors are responsible for issuing these documents after evaluating the intern's commitment and deliverables.

Duration:
The duration is flexible—ranging from 1 month, 2 months, to 6 months or more, based on mutual agreement between the intern and their mentor.

Note:
This is a mentor-driven and contribution-based initiative. Interns must demonstrate self-discipline, consistent progress, clear communication, and technical dedication to qualify for formal certification and recognition within the Mifos community.

📋 Expectations for All Interns

• Weekly Communication: Share regular updates via Slack or your Jira ticket.

• Quality Code: Well-tested, readable, and follows project style guidelines.

• Documentation: Required for every module, service, or app.

• Open Collaboration: Ask for help, review others' PRs, participate in the community.

• Showcase: Record video demos, write blog posts, and present in community calls when possible.

• For OpenMentors: Commit fully to the project for the agreed duration. Certificates will only be provided for serious, impactful contributions.
