Some of the most used and well loved software in the world is considered very simple to use. What can be done to simplify the Mifos application to reduce maintenance burden, eliminate confusion, and accelerate acceptance for new users?

Ideas:

  • Role-based user-interface - only display parts of the user interface that the user needs to see for their role _ Loan officers only see their workflows _ Accounting people only see their workflow _ Mifos Administrators see everything _ etc.

  • Eliminate LSIM flag

  • Eliminate GLIM loan flag

  • Rules engine to eliminate process flow settings

  • Allow more customization fields

  • Use external code for surveys

  • Use external code for user management

  • Simplify roles and permissions
