The Mifos Initiative is looking forward to participating in Google Summer of Code for our third consecutive year as the independent Mifos Initiative and our fifth overall. We've grown from four to seven interns and look to continue that growth with students working on a wide variety of projects across our Java platform, AngularJS community app, and Android mobile apps.

2015 Google Summer of Code Timeline

02 March: 1900 UTC	List of accepted mentoring organizations published on the Google Summer of Code 2015 site.	Mifos Not Selected for 2015 Summer
Interim Period:	Would-be students discuss project ideas with potential mentoring organizations.
16 March - 27 March	Student application period
Interim Period:	Mentoring organizations review and rank student proposals; where necessary, mentoring organizations may request further proposal detail from the student applicant.
15 April:	Slot allocations published to mentoring organizations
18 April:	All mentors must be signed up and all student proposals matched with a mentor Student acceptance choice deadline.
27 April: 1900 UTC	Accepted student proposals announced on the Google Summer of Code 2015 site.
Community Bonding Period:	Students get to know mentors, read documentation, get up to speed to begin working on their projects.
25 May:	Students begin coding for their Google Summer of Code projects
03 July: 1900 UTC	Mid-term evaluations deadline
17 August:	Suggested 'pencils down' date. Take a week to scrub code, write tests, improve documentation, etc.
21 August: 1900 UTC	Firm 'pencils down' date. Mentors, students and organization administrators can begin submitting final evaluations to Google.
28 August: 1900 UTC	Final evaluation deadline. Students can begin submitting required code samples to Google.
31 August:	Final results of Google Summer of Code 2015 announced
24 & 25 October:	Mentor Summit at Google:
