The Mifos Initiative was accepted as a mentoring org for the 2024 Google Summer of Code. We are continuing to update and refine our list of ideas and assigned mentors. Attend our AMA on March 7 at 1500GMT. Applications open up on March 18.

2023 Summer of Code Timeline

18 Mar - 2 Apr 1800 UTC	GSoC contributor application period
2 April: 1800 UTC	GSoC contributor application deadline
Application Review Period: 4 Apr - 24 Apr	Mentoring organizations review and rank proposals; GSoC contributor proposal rankings due from Org Admins
1 May: 1800 UTC	Accepted proposals announced on the Google Summer of Code site.
Community Bonding Period: 1 May - 26 May	Community Bonding Period \| GSoC contributors get to know mentors, read documentation, get up to speed to begin working on their projects
27 May	Coding officially begins
12 July 1800 UTC	Midterm evaluation deadline (standard coding period)
Work Period: 12 July - 19 August	GSoC contributors work on their project with guidance from Mentors
19 Aug - 26 Aug: 1800 UTC	Final Week: GSoC contributors submit their final work product and their final mentor evaluation (standard coding period)
26 Aug - 02 Sept: 1800 UTC	Mentors submit final GSoC contributor evaluations (standard coding period)
3 Sept	Initial results of Google Summer of Code 2023 announced
3 Sept - 04 Nov:	GSoC contributors with extended timelines continue coding
04 Nov: 1800 UTC	Final date for all GSoC contributors to submit their final work product
11 Nov: 1800 UTC	Final date for mentors to submit evaluations for GSoC contributor projects with extended deadlines
