Technical Training Takeaways

1. There was a clear need expressed by many folks for offline mobile capability in MifosX. 

2. SMS based notification, and later SMS based query capability was again something in demand.

3. Mobile based payments / mPesa generated a lot of interest. 

4. There was discussion around the need for security awareness among MFIs, and the need for guidance on how MifosX will help on this front.

5. How can MifosX help in measuring PPI, and other social progress indicators.

6. Musoni's clean and simple interface was appreciated by many folks. 

7. The Accounting session by Vishwas was quite useful, and indicated that MifosX does have many useful design decisions. There were some other discussions I believe around how to handle a "deceased client", and some other questions... Overall Accounting seems important, has been done well in MifosX, and more focussed discussions needed with Accounting Experts on scenarios and their recommended handling in MifosX.
